About Our Team
All of our directors volunteer their time and efforts to help Child United grow. The concept of
providing for poverty-stricken children in third world countries is all very personal to each of the
directors below.

Christine Umayam, Founder

Christine started Child United in May 2007 with the
concept of helping children in third world countries
climb out of the cycle of poverty by promoting
education.
Christine is the leader of all things Child United
working first-hand on the organization's website,
creating marketing campaigns, heading volunteers
and helping raise awareness about the poverty
conditions in third world countries.
Casey Hills, Director (internet marketing)
casey_childunited.org
Casey started Child United in January 2009 leading
all internet marketing initiatives. He provides
expertise in social media marketing, SEO and website layout creation. Casey is always looking for the next big
thing and strives to make sure Child United is in the forefront of his discoveries.
Susan West, Director (Public Relations and Media) susan_childunited.org
Susan comes to Child United with over 20 years of television news experience, primarily working at local Seattle
television stations. She is currently getting her master's degree in Public Relations and volunteers her time as
PR Director/ Media for the organization. You may contact Susan for any media-related questions.
Donn Castro, Director (events and entertainment)dc_childunited.org
Donn joins Child United with a passion to help children. Donn already volunteers his time helping youth in
the Seattle area. He comes with a lot of experience organizing events and entertainment.
Gerald Umayam, Director (finance) gerald_childunited.org
Gerald began his volunteering experience with Child United in April 2008. He leads all things finance. Gerald
develops accounting programs and provides finance goals for the organization.
Maureen Francisco, Director maureen_childunited.org
Maureen started Child United since it began in May 2007. She has generated press releases and media
involvement for the organization. Maureen is currently concentrating on her book and continues to promote
Child United in all of her endevours. You can visit her website here.
Chester Staley, Associate Director chester_childunited.org
Chester is not a newcomer to Child United even though he officially started as a director in August 2009. Chester
belonged to the Executive Development Institute, a group of leaders chosen to develop non-profit organizations.
His group developed a marketing plan for Child United and helped provide contacts which the organization utilizes
to provide donated school books to schools overseas.
Amit Sharma, Volunteer amit_childunited.org
Amit started Child United in September 2008. Amit provides assistance in many Child United projects.
Don Leland, Volunteer don_childunited.org
Don came to Child United by reading a paper featuring the organization. He quickly contacted the organization
and we brought him on! Don started Child United in August 2009.

Ella-Mae Santos will be coordinating our 'Books To Read' program. She will be organizing school book donations

Ellyn Quarino will be coordinating our 'Sponsor A Child' program. She will be organizing all sponsors and updating

SouthEast Asia
Marivi Abueg, SE Asia Director Email Her
Marivi heads Child United in our SE Asia division in the Philippines. She coordinates the organization's efforts in
the country. Marivi has a passion for non-profit work and is currently working to have Child United partnered with
other NGOs in third world countries.
Demy Hermogeno, Child United Representative
Demy is Child United's representative in the Philippines. He heads the 'Sponsor A Child' program in Calsib,
Aguilar, Pangasinan. He provides Child United with updates and documentation and the status of the children's
Marissa Silao, Gilbert Silao and Anabelle Macasero, Child United Representatives
These representatives help Child United with their distribution efforts in the country, leading all sorting/packing
and distribution to families in need.
