Imagine living on less then $1.00 USD a day. Now, imagine having a family of five to feed.

This is a harsh reality for millions of people around the world.

Poverty continues to be a prevalent problem around the world and it keeps getting worse:

*According to 'Global Issues,' 80% of the world lives on less then $10.00 a day.

*In the Philippines, 1.5 million people live in extreme poverty.

*According to UNICEF, 25,000 children die each day due to poverty.

These may just be numbers to you but it's life for millions of people. Basic necessities such as

food and water are hard to come by. Every day, they wake up not knowing where they will get

their food. Every day, they hope to drink clean water but where will they find it? Every day,

they struggle to survive.

Education is also important but in a reality to survive, it doesn't become a priority. So the

chance of a better future, a better job, a better livelihood diminishes. How can we let this

happen?

*According to 'Global Issues,' nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a

book or sign their names.
