Thousands of Filipino children are
living a life of poverty. According to the World Bank, more than
half of the Filipino population lives every day trying to survive.
In Manila, 60% of the workforce are women and children under
the age of 15 years old. In fact, many kids are forced out of
school so they can help their families live. Oftentimes, you
will find them working as vendors or street hawkers.
In the Philippines, there are fifteen million people who survive
on less than $1.00 USD a day. That accounts for 1.5 percent of
the people in the world currently trapped in extreme poverty.
In many cases, whole families survive eating only rice and salt
as their meals.
Poverty continues to be a prevalent problem in the Philippines.
For many in this situation, there doesn't seem to be a way out.
For Child United, education is the key to solving this problem.

proceeds will be placed directly into our education programs
and scholarship
funds. It will go directly to the children and to their futures.
